Whenever a leaf or flower looks past its sell by date take hold of the stem and with a twisting and pulling motion pull it cleanly away from the corm.Poinsettias can be notoriously difficult to look after especially if they have been grown in a very hot environment on the nursery. Water little and often. Do not leave them sitting in water. Keep away from draughts.Xmas flowering Cacti don't like being moved suddenly when in bud or flower. Be careful if you have to move them. JanuarySeeds - now is the time to start buying seeds for sowing early in the year especially if you can provide a little warmth in the form of a heated propagator or greenhouse. We stock a nice selection of Stewarts' Propagators from Ponds - remember to make sure that there is always a hole in the ice on your pond to allow toxic gases to escape. Either use a pond heater or hot tap water to do this.Lawns - don't walk on frozen grass as it can damage leaves only showing up once it has thawed.Shrubs - make sure tender evergreens are protected by fleece. This can be bought cut from the roll.Bulbs - new seasons summer flowering bulbs will be arriving at Frasers early February so make a wish list.
